about

Kissós expresses the desire to narrate a story through its pieces, like in a mosaic. Elements and symbols taken from the mythical narrative about Dionysus and from the related cult dimension with its rituals represent the thematic material.
The adoption of an evocative method and the choice of the twentieth century’s traditional harmonies are the main features of this work, suspended between composition and improvisation, conception, and spontaneity.
Kissós in ancient greek means ivy, one of the typical symbols of Dionysian worship and iconography. This specific element, just like the others that give the name to the tracks, works as an objective correlative, involved in a process of metonymic association.
This album’s aim, similar to a watermark, is to lead to a rediscovery of inner drives’ power in a self-transcendent experience.
