about

Anna Kaluza – alto sax

Christof Thewes – trombone
Jan Roder – double bass
Kay Lübke - drums

Aut Records proudly presents "Jack," the debut album by the Kaluza Quartett. Featuring Anna Kaluza on alto saxophone, alongside Christof Thewes on trombone, Jan Roder on double bass, and Kay Lübke on drums, this quartet delves into a deep, collaborative musical conversation.
Anna Kaluza, a name already familiar to followers of Aut Records (Hanam Quintet and ACM trio), continues to push the boundaries of musical expression, alongside her accomplished colleagues. The quartet's chemistry and the live recording setting capture the raw energy and the ephemeral beauty of free improvisation, making "Jack" a bold statement in the realm of contemporary jazz.
This album marks a significant moment for Kaluza and her bandmates, presenting a bold and innovative contribution to the free improvisation genre. With 'Jack,' they deliver a forward-looking interpretation that refreshes the scene with their unique creative vision.
The album will be presented in April in two different venues: April 17th, 8pm at “Alter Schwede” and April 18th, 7.30pm at “Schwalbenschwanz”.
